If you have previously added an activity to track (such as a field trip, orchestra competition, or food drop), you can modify its settings by following these steps:

Note: For details on adding an activity, see Adding a HCTB Activity in the New App.

  1. On any HCTB screen with the main menu at the bottom, tap Activities. (Tap Back if needed to return to such a page.)
     
    Note: If you don't see the Activities item in the menu, tap More and then select Activities. (The More menu contains pages that don't fit on the main menu.)

    If Activities doesn't appear on the More menu either, you should check with your school district. They may not have enabled the HCTB Activities feature for your school.
    The Your Activities screen will appear and list all the activities you've added.
     
     
  2. In the row of the activity you need to edit, tap .
     
    The Edit Activity Notifications screen for the activity will appear.
      
  3. You can change how the notification is sent to you by selecting or deselecting Email and/or My Device (that is, your mobile device).
     
    If you select Email, the Activity Email Notifications box will be displayed. In this, select the check boxes to the right of the email addresses and then tap Select.
      
  4. To update which days of the week the activity is set to be monitored, tap any deselected days (such as Saturday or Sunday) to add them or tap any selected days you don't want to monitor (to uncheck their boxes).
     
  5. You can change when you want to receive the alert by tapping a different radio button in the Send Notification When section.
    Note: Your choices are when the activity begins, when the bus enters the activity zone, or when the bus exits the zone. The notification zone is a circular area surrounding where the bus will be dropping off/picking up your child for the activity. For example, if the bus is returning your student to their school after a field trip, you might have the school address entered for the zone. In that case, you would have Bus Enters Zone selected, which would send you an alert when the bus enters the circle you've designated.
  6. If you want to change to a different activity zone or modify the current one, follow these steps:
      
    1. In the Notification Zone area, tap the name of the current zone.
       
      The Notification Zones screen will appear. The highlighted zone is the one that is currently chosen for the activity.
        
    2. If you want to switch to a different zone you previously added, select it, tap Confirm, and skip down to step 7. 
       
    3. If you want to edit the current zone, follow these steps:
       
      1. Tap  in its row.
         
        A menu dialog box will appear.
          
      2. Tap Edit Zone.
         
        The Notification Zone screen will appear.
          
      3. To change the name of the zone, select the text in the Name field and type the new name.
         
      4. To move the zone to a different address, tap to the right of the current one, type the new address, and tap .
         
        The circle on the map will move to your new address.
         
      5. On the slider bar below the Address field, you can tap and drag the  to the right to make your notification circle larger (or to the left to make it smaller).
         
      6. Tap Update Zone.
         
        A success message will appear.
          
      7. Tap OK.
         
        You'll be returned to the the Notification Zones screen.
         
      8. Make sure that the same zone is still selected.
        Note: Sometimes the app selects the bottom zone in the list at this point, even if you were updating a different zone.
      9. Tap Confirm.
         
        You'll be returned to the Edit Activity Notifications screen.
         
      10. Skip down to step 7. 
         
    4. You can add a new zone as follows:
       
      1. Tap Create New Zone.
         
        The Notification Zone screen will appear.
          
      2. Tap in the Name field and type a name for the zone that will easily identify it for you, such as Jane's School.
         
        If the school has preselected an address for their activity zones, it will be displayed in the Address field, and a circular shape will surround that location on the map. (This is the actual zone.)
         
      3. If you need to enter a different address, tap to the right of the current one, type the new address, and tap .
         
        The circle on the map will move to your new address.
         
      4. On the slider bar below the Address field, you can tap and drag the  to the right to make your notification circle larger (or to the left to make it smaller).
         
      5. Tap Save Zone.
         
        A success message will appear.
          
      6. Tap OK.
         
        You'll be returned to the Edit Activity Notifications screen.
         
  7. Tap Save Changes.
     
    A success message will appear.
      
  8. Tap OK.
     
    You'll be returned to the Your Activities page, and your changes will be shown in the settings.
     
    You will now be alerted when the activity occurs according to your new configuration. You can also track the activity on the map. (See Tracking Your Student's Bus with the New App for details.)
