You can inform the school that your student won't be riding the bus on a certain day and time (such as if they have a doctor's appointment in the morning) using the Cancel-a-Ride screen as follows:


  1. Log in to HCTB. (See Logging In to Here Comes the Bus for details, if needed.)
     
    The Here Comes the Bus Home screen will appear.
      
  2. Tap Cancel-a-Ride.
     
    The Cancel-a-Ride screen will appear.
     
     
  3. Tap the name of the student you are canceling a ride for.
     

    The stops on record for the student you selected will be displayed at the top of the screen, under their name.
     
     
  4. Tap the bus ride you want to cancel (such as Cancel AM Ride in the example of your student having a morning doctor's appointment).

    Note: You can select all the bus stop options if your student won't be riding the bus at all on the day in question.
    The date range area will be enabled.
      
  5. Tap Today if you are entering a ride cancellation for the current day.
    Note: The Today option will be available only if you are using HCTB app version 3.6.2 or higher.
    Tap Tomorrow if you are entering a ride cancellation for tomorrow.
     
    If you need to enter a different day (or a range of days, such as if your student will be out of town for a short period), follow these steps:
     
    1. Tap Date Range.
       
    2. Select the From Date calendar picker.
       
      A calendar will appear.
        
    3. Select the first day of the cancellation.
       
    4. Tap OK.
       
    5. Select the To Date calendar picker.
       
    6. On the calendar that appears, tap the last day of the cancellation.
      Note: If the cancellation is for a single ride, select the same day that you chose on the From Date calendar.
    7. Tap OK.
       
  6. In the Reason area, select the reason you are canceling the ride for your student.
     
    If you tap Other, a box will appear, in which you can type why your student won't be riding the bus.
      
  7. Tap Confirm.
     
    A summary of your Cancel-a-Ride request will appear, confirming that it has been successfully submitted.
     
     
  8. Check the details at the top to make sure that they are accurate.
     
  9. If you need to make any changes, tap Edit and repeat the preceding steps.
     
    If you need to remove the ride cancellation altogether, you can tap Delete.
     
  10. You can tap Add New Request at the bottom of the screen to add another ride cancellation.
